Regular Season Round 14: Sivar - Anfy 39-46

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Anfy (6-3) defeated on the road 8th ranked Sivar (3-6) 46-39 on Saturday. Anfy held Sivar to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Strangely Sivar outrebounded Anfy 45-28 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Paola Ortiz (171-1) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Center Carina Cornejo (200-75) chipped in 8 points and 7 assists. Ana Hernandez (165-1) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and center Karol Alfaro (168-94) added 2 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Anfy have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Anfy maintains fifth position with 6-3 record. Sivar lost third consecutive game. Sivar at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Itexsal and Se7en. Anfy will meet at home Teclenas (#7) in the next round. Sivar will play against Quequeisque in San Salvador and hope to secure a win.
