Very important is a road loss of third ranked Indios (4-4) against sixth ranked Cariduros (2-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Indios were crushed by Cariduros in Fajardo 98-71. Cariduros made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. International forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five Cariduros players scored in double figures. American center Jessie Govan (211-97, college: Georgetown) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Jaysean Paige (188-94, college: WVU) added 14 points respectively for Indios in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San German and Santurce. Indios at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. Cariduros will play against Grises (#6) in Humacao in the next round. Indios will play on the road against Piratas (#3) in Quebradillas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
