Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gigantes (3-3) against fourth ranked Cangrejeros (3-4) on Tuesday night. Visiting Gigantes were defeated by Cangrejeros in a tough game in Santurce 75-84. Cangrejeros players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Dante Cunningham (203-87, college: Villanova) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: NC State) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valpo) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Gigantes. Gigantes' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cangrejeros maintains fourth position with 3-4 record, which they share with San German and Fajardo. Gigantes at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. Cangrejeros will play against Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Gigantes will play on the road against the league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
