L.M.Mons.'s fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Usulutan R. (0-11) 56-27 on Sunday. L.M.Mons. held Usulutan R. to an opponent 17.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 26.4 percent accuracy of the winners. L.M.Mons. forced 42 Usulutan R. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Maritza Munguia who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Margarita Vides (-6) contributed with 6 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. L.M.Mons.'s coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Karen Bermudez (168-1) replied with 4 points, 19 rebounds and 12 blocks and guard Ashley Lazo (160-7) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Usulutan R.It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. L.M.Mons. maintains twelfth position with 1-9 record. It was Usulutan R.'s eleventh loss in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. L.M.Mons. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Usulutan R. will play on the road against Itexsal (#10) in San Salvador and hopes to get finally their first victory.
