Everything could happen in Fajardo at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Cariduros and 4th placed Mets had identical 3-4 record. This time Cariduros used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Guaynabo 112-105 on Monday night. Cariduros made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Cariduros outrebounded Mets 45-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for international forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: SHSU) helped adding 30 points and 4 assists. American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 assists and the former international forward Renaldo Balkman (201-84, college: S.Carolina) scored 28 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cariduros. Defending champion (4-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Quebradillas. Newly promoted Mets keep the fourth position with five games lost. Cariduros will meet at home Piratas (#4) in the next round. Mets will play against Atleticos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
