Caneros smashed Huracanes in La Romana 95-76. They outrebounded Huracanes 38-19 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Jaison Colome (190-96) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 assists. Naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96) contributed with 9 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Caneros' coach Tony Ruiz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) added 18 points in the effort for Huracanes. Huracanes will play next round against strong Metros trying to get back on the winning streak. Caneros will try to continue on its current victory against Leones in Santo Domingo.
