Regular Season Round 1: Huracanes - Reales 87-82

Huracanes used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from La Vega 87-82 on Saturday night. American forward William Green (201-91, college: Stetson) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) accounted for 18 points. American guard Ayinde Russell (190, college: Morehouse) came up with 27 points (made all of his eight free throws) and the other American import forward Cletrell Pope (206, college: BCU, agency: David Lee Services) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Reales in the defeat. Four Huracanes and five Reales players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Huracanes will meet Metros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Reales will play against Indios in San Francisco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
