But Titanes were not able to use a home court advantage and were outscored by the opponent from La Romana 90-69 on Saturday night. Caneros made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Power forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-96, college: ETSU) nailed 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Jaison Colome (190-96) accounted for 21 points. Four Caneros players scored in double figures. Brazilian forward Tulio Da Silva (203-96, college: Missouri St.) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Jhery Matos (196-96, college: Charlotte) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Titanes in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Caneros will meet Leones in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Titanes will play against Soles in Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
