The game between third ranked Indios (7-7) and fourth ranked Leones (7-5) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Indios were defeated by Leones in a tough game in Juana Diaz 102-106. Leones made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-American power forward Jordan Murphy (201-97, college: Minnesota) contributed with 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American center Jessie Govan (211-97, college: Georgetown) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds and international swingman Justin Reyes (193-95, college: STAC) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Indios. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leones moved-up to third place. Indios at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Indios will play on the road against Mets (#4) in Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
