The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Atleticos' (3-11) road loss to fifth ranked Cariduros (6-5) 105-109 on Saturday. Cariduros made 26-of-27 free shots (96.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). International forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) chipped in 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Cariduros players scored in double figures. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) produced 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 6-5 record. Atleticos lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Cariduros are looking forward to face higher ranked Indios (#3) in Mayaguez in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atleticos will play on the road against Leones in Juana Diaz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
