Regular Season Round 3: Huracanes - Leones 93-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Huracanes' (3-4) home loss to Leones (4-4) 93-100 on Tuesday. Leones made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for naturalized American Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) helped adding 19 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Mexican Tony Criswell (205-92, college: Missouri) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Leones and five Huracanes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leones will meet Titanes (#5) in the next round. Huracanes will play against Soles in Santo Domingo and hope to secure a win.
