Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 34. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91, agency: Interperformances) produced 23 points and American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Capitanes. They maintain first place with 11-4 record. Loser Leones dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Capitanes will meet at home Cariduros (#5) in the next round. Leones will play against Gigantes in Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
