Regular Season Round 3: Reales - Soles 80-63

There was a minor upset in La Vega where Soles (3-6) were defeated by Reales (2-5) 80-63 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for point guard Victor Martinez (185-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Nigerian-American George Williams (198-90, college: WBU) helped adding 19 points. Worth to mention Williams played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. The best for the losing side was American Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Reales will meet at home Metros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soles will play against Huracanes (#4) and hope to secure a win.
