Not a big story in a game in Santo Domingo where Soles (3-6) were edged by Leones (4-4) 71-68 on Thursday. It was a great evening for naturalized American Eddy Polanco (190-94, college: SE Louisiana) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Luis Santos (203-94, college: St.Louis) helped adding 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Leones players scored in double figures. Leones' coach used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern) scored 9 points and 6 assists. Leones will meet Titanes (#5) in the next round. Soles will play against Huracanes and hope to secure a win.
