Leader Capitanes recorded the twelfth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Cariduros (7-6) 106-88 in Arecibo. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cariduros. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Cariduros' 36. They outrebounded Cariduros 41-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Davon Jefferson (203-86, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international Christopher Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The former international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) responded with 15 points and forward Leandro Allende (198-98, college: Barry, agency: Green Sports Management) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Five Capitanes and four Cariduros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitanes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-4 record. Defending champion Cariduros keep the fifth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
