Regular Season Round 21: Ponce - Quebradillas 89-90

The most exciting game of round 21 in the BSN took place in Quebradillas. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Leones (9-7) to second ranked Piratas (10-5) 90-89 in the game for the second place. It was a good game for American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) who saved his team from a defeat with 25 points and 4 assists. The former international Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American-Bosnian point guard Alex Renfroe (191-86, college: Belmont, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Leones. Five Leones players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Piratas maintains second place with 10-5 record having just three points less than leader Bayamon. Leones at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leones will play at home against Mets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
