Grises has finally registered their first victory this season after 14 consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Carolina, where they defeated Gigantes (4-13) 94-90. Grises players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Gigantes' players. American Jonathan Ocasio (196-92, college: New Haven) notched 22 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import Marcus Barham (195-96, college: FAMU) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Grises players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks by American power forward Diamond Stone (210-97, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. Naturalized American Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) added 21 points for lost side. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Grises maintains sixth position with 1-14 record. It was Gigantes' seventh loss in a row. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Grises will play against higher ranked Leones (#4) in Juana Diaz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gigantes will have a break next round.
