BSN top team - Capitanes (13-4) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Atleticos (4-14) in Arecibo 100-88. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Atleticos' 36. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) fired 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-87, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Capitanes' coach Rafael Cruz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-4 record. Loser Atleticos keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. Capitanes will meet Cariduros (#5) in the next round. Atleticos will have a break next round.
