Regular Season Round 5: Metros - Titanes 107-81
Date: August 31, 2021
Rather expected game in Santiago where 4th placed Titanes (6-6) were crushed by first ranked Metros (10-3) 107-81 on Tuesday. Metros outrebounded Titanes 52-29 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Adris De Leon (180-84, college: EWU) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Luis Montero (203-93, college: South Plains) produced 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Brazilian forward Tulio Da Silva (203-96, college: Missouri St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Metros maintains first place with 10-3 record. Loser Titanes keep the fourth position with six games lost. Metros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Titanes will play against Huracanes (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
