Regular Season Round 1: FAS - Santa Ana 133-36

No shocking result in a game when FAS crushed at home Santa Ana 133-36. FAS held Santa Ana to an opponent 20.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 60.2 percent accuracy of the winners. FAS forced 26 Santa Ana turnovers and outrebounded them 65-19 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 38 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds for the winners and guard Hellary Santos (178-2) chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds. Five FAS players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Sofia Zavala (167-5) responded with 11 points and guard Angie Ayala (158-7) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FAS will play against San Miguel on the road in the next round. Santa Ana will play against Santa Tecla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
