Regular Season Round 33: Quebradillas - Guaynabo 86-89

The most exciting game of round 33 in the BSN took place in Quebradillas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Piratas (14-10) to fourth ranked Mets (13-13) 89-86 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Piratas. Mets made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 assists. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) answered with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and international swingman Alexis Colon (196-92) added 8 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Piratas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Piratas at the other side dropped to the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Fajardo. Mets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play at home against the league's leader Vaqueros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
