Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cariduros (14-10) against fourth ranked Leones (14-12) on Tuesday night. Visiting Cariduros were defeated by Leones in Juana Diaz 119-104. Leones made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Cariduros were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American swingman Travis Leslie (193-90, college: Georgia) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Alexander Abreu (179-91, college: UWG) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones maintains fourth place with 14-12 record. Defending champion Cariduros keep the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Quebradillas. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cariduros will play on the road against Gigantes in Carolina and hope to get back on the winning track.
