Regular Season Round 2: Gimnasia - Argentino 82-73

The biggest surprise of round 2 in Super 20 took place in Comodoro Rivadavia where host Gimnasia beat Argentino 82-73 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Argentino 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Cuban forward Yoanki Mencia (196-97) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Agustin Barreiro (203-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) produced 13 points and 4 assists and center Santiago Gonzalez (203-83) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Four Argentino players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentino will play next round against Penarol trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gimnasia will try to continue on its current victory against Union SF in Santa Fe.
