Very significant was FAS's (#1, 2-0) victory against San Miguel 103-33. FAS dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to San Miguel's 24. FAS forced 24 San Miguel turnovers and outrebounded them 47-27 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by San Miguel's players. Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and point guard Aida Funes (171-84) supported her with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four FAS players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2) did not help to save the game for San Miguel. Daysi Alfaro (-97) added 4 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FAS will play against L.M.Mons. 2 in Santa Ana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Miguel will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
