The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Santa Tecla played at the court of Santa Ana. Santa Tecla smashed Santa Ana 81-51 on Saturday. Santa Tecla dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 24. Santa Tecla forced 27 Santa Ana turnovers and outrebounded them 59-41 including a 29-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Kenia Mena (156-1) chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American point guard Dasia McByrd (163-94, college: ONU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Teresita Candelas (166-89) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Santa Tecla will meet FAS in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santa Ana will play against San Miguel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
