Regular Season Round 35: Guaynabo - San German 114-73
Date: September 26, 2021
Rather expected game in San German where 6th ranked Atleticos (7-21) were rolled over by third ranked Mets (14-13) 114-73 on Sunday. Mets outrebounded Atleticos 51-38 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Atleticos' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mets made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Polish point guard Francis Han (185-87, college: Fairfield) helped adding 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Mets players scored in double figures. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized American forward Phillip Wheeler (204-2) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Mets. Newly promoted Mets maintains third place with 14-13 record having two points less than leader Bayamon. Loser Atleticos keep the sixth position with 21 games lost. Mets will meet at home Cangrejeros (#4) in the next round. Atleticos will have a break next round.
