An exciting game was played in Santa Ana. FAS faced L.M.Mons. 2. Guests from (4-0) smashed host L.M.Mons. 2 (1-2) 76-53. FAS dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to L.M.Mons. 2's 36. FAS forced 22 L.M.Mons. 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 57-40 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Aida Funes (171-84) who led her team to a victory with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Colombian center Diana Lopez (179-85, college: Regis Univ.) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocks and Monica Aristondo (163-92) added 14 points and 4 steals in the effort for L.M.Mons. 2. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FAS will play against Santa Ana (#4) in the next round. L.M.Mons. 2 will play against San Miguel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
