Very expected game when bottom-ranked Truenos (0-3) were smashed by top-ranked Univ.Concepcion (0-0) in Talca 87-26 on Saturday. Univ.Concepcion held Truenos to an opponent 17.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Univ.Concepcion forced 24 Truenos turnovers and outrebounded them 58-35 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Univ.Concepcion looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Truenos' players. The winners were led by Josefina Viafora (-99) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Laura Perez (-2) supported her with 15 points and 4 assists. Four Univ.Concepcion players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by Estephania Muena (-0) did not help to save the game for Truenos. Center Ambar Salazar (-99) added 0 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Univ.Concepcion went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Truenos still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Rancagua and Vina del Mar. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
