Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Regatas (1-3) lost to first ranked San Martin (4-1) in Corrientes 74-80 on Sunday. The former international forward Fabian Ramirez (200-90) notched 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and international Matias Solanas (192-98) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Will Davis II (203-92, college: UC Irvine) did not help to save the game for Regatas. The former international Paolo Quinteros (190-79) added 19 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Martin have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-1 record, which they share with Instituto. Loser Regatas keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Union SF and San Lorenzo. San Martin will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Regatas will play against the league's second-placed La Union and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
