Very expected game in Chinandega where 9th ranked Tigres (2-16) were crushed by second ranked Brumas (12-4) 106-84. Brumas dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Tigres' 50. Brumas forced 22 Tigres turnovers and outrebounded them 53-25 including a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Tigres' players. American Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU) nailed 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and the former international point guard Romario Ponce (180-95) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Five Brumas players scored in double figures. Jose Ortiz came up with 26 points and American Quincy Scates (198-89, college: TWU) added 22 points respectively for Tigres in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brumas keep a position of league leader.
