BSF top team - Gigantes (12-2) managed to deliver another win on Tuesday. This time they beat seventh ranked Toa Baja (1-14) in Carolina 82-70. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Toa Baja's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Charity Harris (163, college: Bluefield St.) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 assists. American-Rwandan guard Tierra Henderson (178-87, college: UCLA) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Gigantes' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Caitlin Jenkins (190, college: Rutgers) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and her fellow American import point guard Kaela Hilaire (157-98, college: Stony Brook) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively. Four Toa Baja players scored in double figures. Gigantes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Toa Baja lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Gigantes will meet Montaneras (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Toa Baja will play against Atenienses in Manati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
