Very significant was Cidra's (#3, 10-6) victory against second-best Cangrejeras (11-5) 85-81. Cidra made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Akilah Bethel (183-93, college: LSU) who scored that evening 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Imani Watkins (173-96, college: Binghamton) supported her with 23 points and 4 assists. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by the former international point guard Dayshalee Salaman (163-90, college: LMU) did not help to save the game for Cangrejeras. American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU) added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Cangrejeras players scored in double figures. Cidra (10-6) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Cidra maintains third position having just ten point less than leader Carolina. Cangrejeras at the other side keep the second place with five games lost. Cidra will play against Atenienses (#5) in Manati in the next round. Cangrejeras will play against Moca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
