The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Instituto as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Ferro) loss. Instituto defeated 4th placed Olimpico in Cordoba 78-72. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-87) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Luciano Caceres (180-1) with 17 points and point guard Guillermo Aliende (178-97) scored 13 points. Olimpico's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Gimnasia and Quimsa. Olimpico at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
