Regular Season Round 5: FAS - San Miguel 110-28

Liga Mayor top team - FAS (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked San Miguel (0-6) 110-28. FAS held San Miguel to an opponent 14.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.5 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. FAS forced 37 San Miguel turnovers and outrebounded them 60-20 including a 25-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by San Miguel's players. The best player for the winners was H Garcia who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 28 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-93, college: NDN) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four FAS players scored in double figures. Point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2) produced 10 points and 5 rebounds and guard Melany Sanchez (167-4) added 10 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FAS have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Loser San Miguel still closes the standings with six games lost. FAS will meet league's second-placed Santa Tecla on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San Miguel will play against L.M.Mons. 2 in Santa Ana and hopes to get finally their first victory.
