Sao Paulo celebrated Paulista League title. They held off Franca in the decisive third game of the championship series. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But Vivo/Franca won third quarter 24-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sao Paulo won last quarter 19-17. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Elinho Corazza (192-89, college: Miami Dade CC) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) chipped in 17 points. Four Sao Paulo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds and international center Lucas Silva (208-95) added 16 points respectively.
