An exciting game was played in Panama City. Third ranked LA U faced 4th placed Amazonas. Host LA U (4-4) defeated guests from Cocle (3-5) 85-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amazonas. LA U forced 20 Amazonas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Diobelis Batista (167-5) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. LA U's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Colombian forward Laura Garrido (-90) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Gloria Martinez added 17 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Amazonas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LA U maintains third place with 4-4 record having just two points less than leader Correcaminos. Amazonas at the other side keep the fourth position with five games lost. LA U will play against league's leader Correcaminos in Colon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amazonas will have a break next round.
