An interesting game for Santa Tecla (6-3) which played road game in San Miguel against 4th placed San Miguel (2-8). Second ranked Santa Tecla had an easy win 80-38. Santa Tecla held San Miguel to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Santa Tecla forced 21 San Miguel turnovers and outrebounded them 64-32 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. Elisa Dominguez (165-0) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2) responded with 6 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Melany Sanchez (167-4) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla maintains second place with 6-3 record having five points less than leader FAS. San Miguel at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Santa Tecla will play against L.M.Mons. 2 (#3) in Santa Ana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Miguel will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
