Regular Season Round 10: Amazonas - Panteras 76-74

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LPB took place in Cocle. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Panteras (7-3) to fourth ranked Amazonas (4-6) 76-74 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panteras. Strangely Panteras outrebounded Amazonas 56-30 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian forward Laura Garrido (-90) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Julia Jimenez contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Ecuadorian power forward Lucia Garrido (-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American guard Ashley Reid (165-98, college: Wichita St.) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for Panteras. Panteras' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Amazonas moved-up to third place, which they share with LA U. Panteras at the other side keep the second position with three games lost.
