UNIFACISA has finally registered their first victory this season after one consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Pinheiros (3-3) on the road game in Sao Paulo 86-67 on Wednesday. UNIFACISA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-93, college: Dartmouth) who scored 22 points. The former international Andre Bresolin (195-87) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four UNIFACISA players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Portuguese forward Rafael Munford (195-98, college: Augusta) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. UNIFACISA (1-1) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. UNIFACISA will meet higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pinheiros will have a break next round.
