Important game to mention about took place in La Union. Eighth ranked El Rapido (5-12) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Cojute (5-12) 90-87 in the game for the seventh place. El Rapido made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Cojute only scored six points from the stripe. El Rapido brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American Reggie Baker (193-93, college: BCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Puerto Rican center Giovanny Martinez (206, college: Jarvis Christian) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Five El Rapido players scored in double figures. American swingman Zekiah Owens (197-98, college: AIC) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American center DAndre Downey (206, college: William Penn) added 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Cojute. El Rapido moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Cojute. El Rapido will play against bottom-ranked Santiagueno (#10) in the next round. Cojute will play against the league's second-placed San Salvador where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
