Second-ranked Santa Tecla (8-4) made lots of trouble for leader FAS (13-0) on Saturday. FAS managed to secure only three-point victory 60-57. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Santa Tecla. FAS made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Santa Tecla only scored four points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Santa Tecla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-93, college: NDN) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tevez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and center Carmen Noyola (176-92) added 4 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Santa Tecla's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. FAS have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Santa Tecla at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. FAS are looking forward to face San Miguel (#4) at home in the next round. Santa Tecla will play against L.M.Mons. 2 in Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
