Regular Season Round 4: Yaracuyanas - Caribenas 85-87

The most exciting game of round 4 in the LINABAFE took place in San Felipe. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Yaracuyanas (1-4) to second ranked Caribenas (3-3) 87-85 on Wednesday evening. Caribenas had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caribenas made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Genesis Rivera (180-96, college: UMass) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Lismary Garcia (164-2) contributed with 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Lilibeth Maramara (-96) replied with 7 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Guadalupe Diaz (163-99) added 24 points in the effort for Yaracuyanas. Four Yaracuyanas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Caribenas maintains second position with 3-3 record having just one point less than leader Anzoategui. Yaracuyanas at the other side stay at the bottom place with four games lost. Caribenas are looking forward to face Patriotas (#3) in Barinas in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Yaracuyanas will play on the road against the league's leader Anzoategui in Puerto La Cruz and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
