Regular Season Round 4: Patriotas - Pastoras de Lara 78-68

An interesting game for Patriotas (2-3) which hosted in Barinas one of their biggest challengers Pastoras de Lara (2-3). Third ranked Patriotas managed to get a 10-point victory 78-68. The winners were led by the former international Yolimar Martinez (-95) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and the former international point guard Edicta Blanco (168-94) supported her with 24 points. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. Even 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Barbara Pico (-2) did not help to save the game for Pastoras de Lara. Maria Sanchez (-98) added 16 points for lost side. Pastoras de Lara's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Patriotas maintains third position with 2-3 record having just three points less than leader Anzoategui, which they share with defeated Pastoras de Lara. Patriotas will meet league's second-placed Caribenas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pastoras de Lara will play against Yaracuyanas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
