Argentina
Regular Season Round 6: Obera - Argentino 94-72
Date: November 19, 2021
Very predictable result when tenth ranked Obera (4-4) rolled over at home 17th ranked Argentino (2-4) 94-72 on Friday. Obera looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Obera made 7 blocks. American guard Melvin Johnson (193-93, college: VCU) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Nicolas De los Santos (180-88) supported him with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 16 points by naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (198-81) did not help to save the game for Argentino. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-92, college: Calgary) added 15 points. Five Obera and four Argentino players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obera have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Loser Argentino dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Obera will meet La Union (#12) in the next round. Argentino will have a break next round.
