Very significant was FAS's (#1, 16-0) victory against second-ranked Santa Tecla (10-5) 93-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santa Tecla. FAS dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Tecla's 24. FAS forced 19 Santa Tecla turnovers and outrebounded them 55-41 including a 44-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when FAS made 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Santa Tecla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
