Regular Season Round 30: Ameghino - Colon SF 100-86

Bottom-ranked Colon SF is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to eleventh ranked Ameghino (3-5) 100-86 on Saturday evening. Ameghino outrebounded Colon SF 45-28 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Abel Aristimuno (195-91, agency: BIG) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-88) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by forward Ignacio Zulberti (200-96) did not help to save the game for Colon SF. Swingman Gregorio Eseverri (194-86) added 17 points. Five Ameghino and four Colon SF players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ameghino moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Rivadavia. Newly promoted Colon SF still closes the standings with six games lost. Ameghino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon SF will play against the league's leader Independ.O. (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
