There was an upset in San Miguel de Tucuman where higher ranked Estudiantes T. (5-6) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Dep Norte (2-6) 73-68 on Sunday. Swingman Juan Pablo Lugrin (196-96) stepped up and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Lautaro Mare (196-98) chipped in 13 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Conrado Echevarria (195-98) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jose Muruaga (188-84) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dep Norte moved-up to twelfth place. Estudiantes T. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Dep Norte will meet higher ranked Independiente (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Estudiantes T. will play against San Isidro where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
