Regular Season Round 6: Obras - Minas 74-77

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Liga Americas took place in Buenos Aires. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Argentinian Obras (0-4) to top-ranked Brazilian Minas (3-0) 77-74 on Tuesday evening. It was a good game for American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-90, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Point guard Alexey Borges (185-95) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. Peruvian point guard Juan Pablo Venegas (183-0) replied with 15 points and 5 assists and point guard Pedro Barral (187-94, agency: Duran International) added 15 points in the effort for Obras. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Minas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 3-0 record. Obras at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Minas are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bigua in Montevideo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Obras will have a break next round.
