The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Penarol's (16-6) road victory over 4th placed Boca (14-6) in Buenos Aires 85-69 on Thursday. Penarol made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Naturalized American power forward Phillip Lockett (202-88) nailed 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Bruno Sansimoni (194-96) accounted for 26 points and 7 assists. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. The former international Kevin Hernandez (205-91) came up with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and point guard Carlos Buendia (177-95) added 12 points respectively for Boca in the defeat. Boca's coach Gonzalo Garcia rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Penarol maintains third place with 16-6 record behind leader Gimnasia. Loser Boca keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Penarol will meet San Lorenzo (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
