Regular Season Round 11: Castro - Los Leones 86-85
Date: March 5, 2022
Important game to mention about took place in Castro. Ninth ranked Castro (3-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Los Leones (7-2) 86-85 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Los Leones. Castro made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Argentinian-American guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) helped adding 24 points and 17 rebounds. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Castro's coach Carlos Romano allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international guard Barham Amor (185-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and American-Dominican forward Justin Satchell (203-1995, college: St.Leo) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Los Leones players scored in double figures. Castro moved-up to seventh place. Los Leones at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Puente Alto. Castro will play against higher ranked Puente Alto (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Los Leones will play against Ancud and hope to get back on the winning track.
